SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS is a documentary/live-performance film featuring intimate footage of James Murphy in the lead-up to, and the aftermath of, LCD Soundsystem’s final show on 2nd April last year in Madison Square Garden.

What started out as a tongue in cheek side-project became one of the most celebrated and definitive sounds of a generation; The Madison Square Garden farewell concert was nearly four hours in length, and sold out instantly with thousands attending.


The film also touches on the professional (and personal) ramifications of Murphy’s decision to retire LCD Soundsystem once and for all; so if you too were glued to Pitchfork’s live streaming of Madison Square Gardens, while tears were simultaneously streaming down your face then this might possibly be one for you.
